Paving slab is the modern material for covering sidewalks, streets, road approaches to buildings. The slabs are simple in installation and maintenance. In contrast to asphalt coating, it does not prevent plants from feeding water and gas exchange. It can withstand large temperature changes, does not melt from the sun and does not emit harmful gases.
The manufacture was established in Holland in XIX century. Paving slabs were used in the road construction due to lack of stone materials. After the use of such material was recognized as quite successful, the production of paving slabs started in other countries.
